Disclosure & how the numbers work

Short version: some links here earn us a commission, prices come from third parties and lag the market, and our expected-value figures are averages rather than predictions.

Affiliate links

PackPop participates in affiliate programmes, including the TCGplayer affiliate programme. When you follow a link from this site to a marketplace and buy something, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you — the price you pay is the same as if you had gone there directly.

Buy buttons, card prices that link out, and the “view on” links on card and sealed-product pages are the ones that can carry affiliate tracking. Nothing about which cards, sets or products we show you is influenced by what pays — the rankings on this site are computed from prices and pull rates, and there is no paid placement.

Where prices come from

Card prices are sourced from third-party market data and refreshed on a schedule, so they lag live listings. Treat them as a recent reference, not a quote. A card with no recent sales may show no price at all rather than a guess.

Pull rates come from the published pack configurations for each set. Where a set's configuration has not been published, we show no odds rather than estimate them.

What expected value does and does not tell you

Expected value is an average across many openings. It is the right number for comparing products or pricing slots in a break. It is the wrong number for predicting the box in front of you: most boxes come in under EV, and a few come in far above it. That is how the distribution works, not a flaw in the figure.

EV here also counts only cards we have a price for, so where some of a set is unpriced the figure is an under-estimate. Pages that compute EV say how many cards were missing a price.

Nothing on this site is financial advice, and sealed product is not an investment product. Please do not spend money you cannot afford to lose on cardboard.
